This winter has been a rather active season here in North Carolina, but yesterday brought on spring-like weather for the first time. Also, the warmer weather got me thinking about what I would like to do for a spring vacation.
Having been a frequent visitor and former resident in central U.S. when living in Oklahoma as a kid, I started to have thoughts of visiting Missouri.
I recall vividly as an 11-year old when I was on my way to my grandfather's wedding in 1986 as my family and I went through Missouri to get there. We stayed overnight at a hotel in St. Louis and was able to get pictures of the Gateway Arch as well as of Busch Stadium where the St. Louis Cardinals played at the time. I have been to Missouri before, but didn't get much of a chance to explore the state.
So after looking at places in Missouri, Branson got my attention. I noticed the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing which was more affordable than I thought. I'm not a golf fan, but that wouldn't stop me from wanting to checkout the new Payne Stewart Golf Course there.
Hilton Branson Convention Center was also another place I noticed when looking up info about Branson. I checked out the rates for a weekend there, and noticed I can get a room with a king-sized bed for a very good price.
I would have loved to have seen the NAIA Division II College Basketball Championship that is getting underway today. It one of my favorite sports, and the spring weather also reminds me very much of the frenzy that is the NCAA Tournament in March.
However, the Silver Dollar City theme park is another reason for me wanting to vacation to Branson. Besides, I just have to checkout the Showboat Branson Belle since I've never been on a cruise before. Then again, I wouldn't mind waiting to go until summer knowing that the White Water park will be open then.
A vacation in Branson, Missouri is definitely what I'd like to do this spring!
